Caitlin Clark’s WNBA offseason has been full of anticipation as fans eagerly await updates on her next moves. While she hasn’t confirmed her plans, there’s speculation around her potential involvement in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 basketball league, which has been drawing attention for its innovative format, appeal to elite players, and an attractive salary. With the WNBA season spanning just a few months, players seek additional ways to stay active and boost their earnings. Caitlin Clark is no different, with new details shedding light on one of her lucrative side gigs.

LinkedIn post shows CEO’s attempt to book Caitlin Clark

A LinkedIn post by finance industry professional Don A. Steinbrugge, CFA, has been unearthed, sharing the details of a high-profile booking attempt involving WNBA star Caitlin Clark. According to Steinbrugge, his organization, GAINING THE EDGE, sought to have Clark speak for a 30 minute virtual appearance at their Global Cap Intro 2024 event. However, the quoted speaking fee of $100,000 was far beyond their budget.

Steinbrugge’s post outlined the flexibility offered in scheduling Clark’s appearance, noting she could pick any time during business hours over a six-week span. But her team’s firm starting rate of $100,000 led to a realization, Caitlin Clark stands to make more for a half-hour virtual event than many WNBA players make in an entire season.

Steinbrugge concluded by pointing out that “she makes more in a 30-minute virtual meeting than she does over a 40-game WNBA season with her team.” Clark has become one of the most recognizable athletes and now commands a speaking fee that underscores her significant marketability and high-profile presence.
