The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. They also agreed to a two-year, $101.4 million contract with LeBron James. The two will become the first father-son duo in NBA history to be in the league – let alone as teammates – at the same time. Bryce James, LeBron’s younger son, weighed in on his father and older brother teaming up.

Sam Lance of ZagsBlog shared comments from Bryce praising his older brother’s journey at the ongoing Nike Peach Jam, tweeting:

Bronny joined the USC Trojans as a five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He suffered cardiac arrest last July, however, derailing the start of his collegiate career. After missing the first eight games of the season, he made his debut in December. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks in 19.3 minutes per game while shooting 36.6% from the field, 26.7% from three-point range and 67.6% from the free-throw line.

Could Bryce James also play with LeBron James?

There have been rumors that LeBron James could also be looking to team up with Bryce James. The latter was asked about the possibility of his dad continuing to play until he is NBA ready while speaking with Sam Lance of ZagsBlog at the Nike Peach Jam, responding:

We got to see. We’re gonna find out.

Bryce is set to enter his senior season of high school basketball as a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He will be draft eligible in the 2026, which is the same summer LeBron’s contract is set to expire.
