For the first time in his four-year NBA career, Immanuel Quickley is set to enter restricted free agency this offseason. The Toronto Raptors guard recently weighed in on his NBA future. When asked about his mindset entering the offseason during an appearance on the Run It Back podcast, he stated:

Honestly, like I said earlier, business is always business, but I love Toronto. I love being in Toronto since the day I got there. I say it all the time. They’ve done nothing but show me love.

Toronto is obviously – if I could be there, that’s where I want to be – but obviously, business is business so my agent and stuff have to handle all that.

Quickley played the best basketball of his career after a midseason trade from the New York Knicks. In 38 games with the Raptors – which also marked his first time as a full-time starter – he averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks per game while shooting 42.2% from the field, 39.5% from three-point range and 84.1% from the free-throw line.

Toronto can match any offer that the 2022-23 Sixth Man of the Year runner-up receives. The franchise – who are in the midst of a rebuild – will likely look to keep him around, as he is just 24 years old.

Immanuel Quickley weighs in on Joel Embiid Flagrant 1

Joel Embiid appeared to blatantly attempt to pull Mitchell Robinson down by his legs in Game 3 of the Philadelphia 76ers‘ first-round series with the New York Knicks. The 2022-23 NBA MVP received a Flagrant 1 and was able to avoid a first quarter ejection. Instead, he scored 50 points, leading the 76ers to a 125-114 victory.

During his appearance on the Run It Back, Immanuel Quickley was asked if the play was dirty, responding:

I ain’t trying to get fined – I don’t know if I still can. But if that was anybody else, I don’t know if he’d get the same call.

While Embiid believed he was protecting himself, the Knicks seemingly disagreed. Instead of being ejected with over four minutes left in the first quarter, the seven-time All-Star took over the game.
