Women’s basketball is changing for the better, and a big reason why is Caitlin Clark. Clark is one of the best shooters that the game of basketball has ever seen, and her college career is now over and she is taking her talents to the pros. Clark was a star at Iowa, and she was selected first overall in the WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. She had her introductory press conference on Wednesday, and she is happy to be in Indiana.
“I’m super happy to be here,” Caitlin Clark said, according to an article from ESPN. “Thank you to the Fever, the Pacers. This is a dream come true.”
Caitlin Clark will continue to have all eyes on her in the pros as she is the face of women’s basketball right now. She thinks that starting her career with the Fever will be good for her.
“I can’t think of a better place for myself to start my career,” Clark said. “A place that loves basketball, supports women’s basketball, and an organization that really does things the right way, has championship pedigree.”
One thing that Caitlin Clark is used to is winning. She didn’t win a national title at Iowa, but she came very close twice. She is a winner, and with her on the roster, the Fever will be able to win.
“There’s just so much talent on this roster,” Clark said. “Obviously Aliyah has been one of my teammates before with USA Basketball and I know first-hand how great she is. Erica Wheeler is somebody that’s been having my back and we’re not even teammates yet. A vet, somebody that’s been in the league for a really long time. As a point guard you need someone to lean on, that’s going to have your back, to ask questions.”
Clark will continue to better the game in the pros with the Indiana Fever.
