The Sacramento Kings took down the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night to advance in the NBA play-in tournament. One player that had a big game for the Kings was De’Aaron Fox. Fox finished with 24 points, and Sacramento went on to win by 24 points as well as the final score was 118-94. The Kings are moving on to take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.
“We knew what was on the line,” De’Aaron Fox said, according to an article from ESPN. “This was just another obstacle in our way. We have to get over this hump. Obviously losing to this team last year and obviously facing this team now, it’s like, of course we have to face this team.”
De’Aaron Fox remembers watching Steph Curry and the Warriors dominate the NBA landscape and win championships when he was in high school. Now, Fox is in the NBA with the Kings, and he just helped eliminate Curry and Golden State from the 2024 postseason. That has to be a pretty cool feeling.
“I was a sophomore in high school watching them win championships,” Fox said. “We’ve been watching this team for a long time. If it is the end, it is what it is. I’m glad we’re able to beat this team at this moment, but they definitely had a hell of a run.”
If the Kings are going to take the next step and get into the playoffs, they will have to take down the Pelicans on the road. De’Aaron Fox will need to have another big game if Sacramento is going to get the win on the road. New Orleans will be without Zion Williamson, but it will still be a tough game.
