The Dallas Mavericks are up 2-1 in their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder after their game game three win on Saturday. The Thunder got a win in game one easily at home in blowout fashion. The Mavericks found a way to get the win in game two on the road to even up the series, and that set up a huge game three. The game came down to the wire as Dallas ended up getting the win 105-101. Dereck Lively ended up coming up big at the end of the game as he made some crucial free throws to ice the win.
Free throw shooting is a crucial part of these playoff games, and Dereck Lively stepped up big time for the Mavericks in game three. Dallas now has a chance to go up 3-1 if they can get a win in game four.
Lively came up big at the free throw line for the Mavericks, but at first, he wasn’t trying to get the ball. He was trying to set up his teammates, but they all had faith in him to step up at the charity stripe.
“There’s probably a clip out there of me just running around,” Lively said after game three, according to an article from NBA.com. “I was trying to make the lane open for my teammates, and my teammates were just like, ‘Why the hell are you running? Just stay there and knock them in. Just having my teammates have my back makes you want to just step up and make (the free throws) even more.”
Dereck Lively and the Mavericks will look to go up 3-1 in game four on Monday.
