There were some comments from NBA commissioner Adam Silver during All-Star weekend that made it seem like the league was going to be adjusting and shifting to a more physical style of play. We have seen some players that typically get to the line a lot not getting as many calls since then, so officials might be letting more things go. The Orlando Magic are fine with that, and they are embracing that style.

Physicality is an important trait for a team, especially one that is looking to make some noise in the postseason. Jalen Suggs and the Magic are aware of that, and they are more than content playing with a more physical approach.

“You want to make your presence felt every time you step on the court – personally and as a team,” Jalen Suggs said, according to an article from NBA.com. “Embracing the physicality. They said they are going to let the game be more physical. We are trying to get to that…From watching it and hearing it, that’s how it gets (in the playoffs). One, getting used to doing it and two, getting used to playing against it.”

The Magic are having a great season and Suggs and some other young stars are doing a good job in the NBA. Orlando is currently in fifth place in the Eastern conference and they are 39-28 on the season. There is less than a month to go until the postseason, and the Magic and currently firmly in the playoffs. This team is feeling good with their physicality as they approach the postseason.
