Jalen Brunson has really made a name for himself since joining the New York Knicks and taking on a lead role. That’s led to many around the league offering him some major praise.

NBA insider Jake Fischer recently said that Brunson is the best playoff scorer he’s seen in years and also called him the league’s best one-on-one scorer.

Over 49 career playoff games, Brunson has averages of 23.9 points per game while making 45.9 percent of his shots from the field and 33.3 percent of his attempts from 3-point range. He’s played in the playoffs for the past four seasons, holding lead roles in three of those campaigns.

He has some of the best footwork in the league and has shown an ability to go to work down low near the basket, something that isn’t all that common for someone his size (listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds).

While he averaged only 0.88 points per possession (43.0 percentile) in isolation last season, fans of the game know just how good he can be in those situations.

What’s ahead for Brunson and the Knicks?

Brunson recently agreed to a massive four-year extension worth $156.5 million, keeping himself in New York for the long term. The one-time All-Star left over $100 million on the table by signing an extension now instead of waiting to sign one a year from now.

That shows just how committed Brunson is to winning with the Knicks, who recently pulled off a huge trade for Mikal Bridges. The Knicks mean business and are all in on winning a title this coming season after losing in seven games in the Eastern Conference semifinals to the Indiana Pacers last season.

A core of Brunson, O.G. Anunoby, Julius Randle, Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo and Bridges figures to be among the best in the league and will compete for Eastern Conference supremacy.

Brunson, who surely will appreciate Fischer’s words, is undoubtedly hoping that his act of selflessness will pay off with an NBA title sometime in the near future.
