The NBA Summer League continued on Sunday, July 14, as 16 of the 30 teams were in action. Young players throughout the league are looking to play their way onto NBA rosters, make a case for more minutes, or simply get reps under their belt. Take a look at some of the top performers below.
Top performers from Saturday’s NBA Summer League action
Cam Whitmore, Houston Rockets
Cam Whitmore had a big game as the Houston Rockets beat the Washington Wizards 109-91. He finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists, five steals and one block while shooting 9-15 from the field and 7-10 from the free-throw line.
Brandon Podziemski, Golden State Warriors
Brandon Podziemski helped lead the Golden State Warriors to a 92-82 victory over the Chicago Bulls. He had 21 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and one steal while shooting 8-14 from the field, 4-8 from three-point range and 1-2 from the free-throw line.
Julian Strawther, Denver Nuggets
Julian Strawther had a big game despite the Denver Nuggets falling 84-81 to the Toronto Raptors. He scored 32 points, adding three rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. He shot 10-21 from the field, 6-12 from three-point range and 6-10 from the free-throw line.
Reed Sheppard, Houston Rockets
Reed Sheppard was yet another standout from the Houston Rockets’ victory over the Washington Wizards. He added 22 points, six rebounds, seven assists, five steals and one block while shooting 9-15 from the field, 1-5 from three-point range and 3-4 from the free-throw line.
Keon Johnson, Brooklyn Nets
Keon Johnson had a big game despite the Brooklyn Nets falling 87-78 to the Los Angeles Clippers. He finished with 27 points, six rebounds, two assists and four steals. He shot 9-16 from the field, 4-8 from three-point range and 5-6 from the free-throw line.
Tristan Da Silva, Orlando Magic
Tristan Da Silva helped the Orlando Magic defeat the New Orleans Pelicans 91-86. He had 23 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals while shooting 8-13 from the field, 3-6 from three-point range and 4-4 from the free-throw line.
Matas Buzelis, Chicago Bulls
Matas Buzelis had a big game despite the Chicago Bulls falling to the Golden State Warriors. He scored 28 points, adding five rebounds and two steals. He shot 10-22 from the field, 4-8 from three-point range and 4-5 from the free-throw line.
EJ Liddell, Atlanta Hawks
EJ Liddell led all scorers despite the Atlanta Hawks falling 79-76 to the San Antonio Spurs. He had 22 points, five rebounds and four blocks while shooting 6-14 from the field, 2-6 from three-point range and 8-10 from the free-throw line.
Orlando Robinson, Houston Rockets
Orlando Robinson was yet another Houston Rockets player who had a big night in their victory over the Washington Wizards. He finished with 22 points, 15 rebounds, two assists and two steals while shooting 10-14 from the field and 2-4 from the free-throw line.
