The Indiana Pacers are going to the Eastern Conference Finals to take on the Boston Celtics. The Pacers beat the New York Knicks in game seven to advance, and it was the end of a great series. The home team had won every game before game seven, but the road Pacers got it done. Now, they are moving on.

“I just told our team when you win a Game 7 in Madison Square Garden, you’ve made history,” Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said after the win, according to an article from NBA.com. “It’s very, very difficult to do. This is the most raucous crowd in the NBA that I’ve seen.”

Indiana led for the entire game, but there was a point in the third quarter when the Knicks made a run. The Pacers knew that was going to happen, and they handled it well.

“We knew they were going to make their run,” Aaron Nesmith said. “We knew it was going to get loud in this building. We hadn’t responded well to that in previous games, so that was a big point of emphasis for us and we responded the right way today.”

The bench came up big for the Pacers in the game as well, and Tyrese Haliburton said after the game that Indiana has the best bench in the league.

“We have the best bench in the NBA,” Haliburton said. “We are the deepest team in the NBA. We have five, six guys ready on the bench at all times ready to answer the call when need be. I think that’s what separates us from everybody.”

Now, the Pacers will take on the Celtics in the ECF, and game one will take place on Tuesday in Boston.
