Patrick Beverley had a rough night as Milwaukee Bucks‘ season came to an end in the first-round of the postseason. The 12th-year guard was involved in an altercation with Indiana Pacers fans. The incident took place when he was removed from last Thursday’s Game 6 loss with 2:32 left to play. Beverley appeared to throw a ball into the crowd and hit a woman in the head unintentionally. He followed that up with a second throw that hit the fan his initial throw seemed to be intended for.

The incident is now being investigated by Indianapolis Police, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

It is unclear what exactly the detectives involved are investigating or what punishment could come as a result of the investigation. The league is also reportedly investigating Beverley’s actions, however, they have yet to hand down punishment. The veteran guard is set to enter unrestricted free agency this offseason. It remains to be seen if his market will be affected by the incident – or a potential suspension.

Patrick Beverley discusses incident at the end of the game

Patrick Beverley found himself as the target of plenty of scrutiny for his actions at the end of the Milwaukee Bucks’ Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers. He discussed the incident on his self-titled podcast, stating:

Unfortunate situation that should have never happened. What I did was bad and that should have never happened. I have to be better and I will be better. That should have never happened regardless of what was said. That should have never happened. Simple as that. Let’s just say it was more than ‘Cancun on 3’.

Beverley added that he has been called a lot of names, but not what he was called in Game 6. He claimed that he could have had four or five fans removed for what was said. The veteran guard suggested that security asked if he wanted to have the fans removed, which he declined. He did not elaborate on what was said, however, insisted that it crossed a line.
