Patrick Beverley has been suspended for four games without pay, the NBA announced on Thursday. The veteran guard had been under fire for his actions – throwing a ball at fans and an ‘inappropriate interaction’ with a reporter – at the end of the Milwaukee Bucks‘ 120-98 season-ending Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers last Thursday.
Upon exiting the game with 2:32 left to play, Beverley was involved in an altercation with fans. He appeared to throw a ball into the crowd and hit a woman in the head unintentionally. He followed that up with a second throw that hit the fan his initial throw seemed to be intended for.
Beverley followed that up by interrupting a reporter during his post-game press conference to ask ESPN producer Malinda Adams – who had yet to ask a question – if she subscribes to his podcast. When she responded that she did not, he claimed she could not interview him and continued to focus on her until she eventually left the interview area.

Patrick Beverley altercation with fan under investigation
Patrick Beverley’s back-and-forth with a fan at the end of Game 6 is being investigated by Indianapolis Police, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
It is unclear what the detectives involved are investigating. It also remains unclear what punishment Beverley, and the fan, could face. The 12th-year guard is set to enter unrestricted free agency this summer. It remains to be seen if his market will be affected by the suspension or investigation.
