The Brooklyn Nets appear headed straight toward a rebuild, and one of their players in Cameron Johnson is apparently attracting tons of interest around the league.
“While the [Sacramento] Kings, [Orlando] Magic and [Los Angeles] Lakers are interested, one recent report claimed the [San Antonio] Spurs, [Toronto] Raptors or [Golden State] Warriors could be a ‘dark horse,’ wrote NBA insider Brian Lewis.”
Johnson is coming off a season in which he 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while knocking down 44.6 percent of his shots from the field and 39.1 percent of his shots from beyond the arc. He’d undoubtedly help all of the teams linked to him.
Another contender is eyeing Johnson

The Cleveland Cavaliers are another team that is reportedly targeting the Nets wing.
“An NBA source told Hoops Wire that the Cleveland Cavaliers are also interested in acquiring Johnson,” wrote Ashish Mathur.
If all the teams linked to Johnson are very interested in him, perhaps a bidding war will ensue. That would work out in the Nets’ favor as they might be looking to acquire as many assets as possible to help them rebuild their roster in the near future.
Brooklyn recently traded Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks, receiving a massive haul in return for the star wing.
The Lakers might be the team that needs someone like Johnson the most. Their roster is largely the same from last season, which ended after they were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
Los Angeles drafted Bronny James and Dalton Knecht recently, but the majority of last season’s core is still intact.
Johnson would bring some solid shooting and defense to the team. Both of those things would surely be welcomed by the Lakers and their fans.
For now, however, fans will have to wait and see what the Nets end up deciding to do with Johnson. The 28-year-old has three more years left on his current contract.
