Paul George is about to start a new chapter in his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers, and he seems to be preparing for it in major ways.

The 34-year-old reportedly has been speaking to Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and watching film on Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in order to be the best player possible for the 76ers.

George is set to join the 76ers after spending five seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers. During his time with the Clippers, he was named an All-Star three teams and earned All-NBA honors once. He averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while knocking down 45.5 percent of his shots from the field and 39.7 percent of his attempts from 3-point range.

It’s clear that George wants to be at his best in order to help the 76ers make it past the second round of the playoffs for the first time since the start of the century.

Looking up to some of the best

LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are widely viewed as three of the greatest athletes to ever play the game of basketball, so it’s no surprise that George is looking up to them to find ways to get better as he gets closer to the end of his career.

James, Jordan and Bryant have a total of 15 titles among them as well as 10 MVP awards. There are many things that George can take from each of them in order to help Joel Embiid and the 76ers take a step forward this coming season.

Philadelphia has made the playoffs for the last seven seasons, but it has been unable to get past the second round. Now armed with a core of George, Embiid and Tyrese Maxey for the foreseeable future, the 76ers could make lots of noise in the 2024-25 season.

The team has also agreed to deals with Andre Drummond, Eric Gordon and Kelly Oubre Jr. Furthermore, reserve big man Paul Reed could be used in a trade to acquire some draft capital or another role player.

The 76ers are undoubtedly a team to keep an eye out for this coming season and beyond.
