The NBA Las Vegas Summer League is in full swing as all 30 teams evaluate young talent. The annual summer tournament officially begin in 2004, with just six teams participating at the time.
It became the official summer tournament back in 2007 and expanded to 22 teams in 2008 – and eventually all 30 in 2018. Take a look at the top five scorers in the history of the league.
Top 5 scorers in NBA Las Vegas Summer League
#1: Archie Goodwin
Archie Goodwin became the all-time leading scorer in NBA Summer League history in 2018. He has scored 375 points in 30 career summer league games, averaging 12.5 points per game. Goodwin played 165 games over a four-year NBA career. He averaged 6.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.2 blocks per game while shooting 42.9% from the field, 23.6% from three-point range and 70.0% from the free-throw line.
#2: Coby Karl
Coby Karl previously held the NBA Summer League scoring record. He scored 337 points in 29 games, averaging 11.6 ppg. Karl appeared in 24 NBA games across two seasons, averaging 2.4 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.0 apg, 0.3 spg and 0.1 bpg while shooting 34.5% from the field, 25.0% from three-point range and 75.0% from the free-throw line.
#3: Vander Blue
Vander Blue scored 313 points in 30 NBA Summer League games, averaging 10.4 ppg. He appeared in just 10 NBA games across three seasons. Blue averaged 3.0 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.2 apg and 0.4 spg while shooting 30.8% from the field, 15.4% from three-point range and 33.3% from the free-throw line.
#4: Rashad Vaughn
Rashad Vaughn averaged 13.3 ppg in 23 NBA Summer League games, scoring a total of 305 points. He made 139 NBA appearances across three seasons. Vaughn averaged 3.0 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.5 apg, 0.4 spg and 0.2 bpg while shooting 33.7% from the field, 31.3% from three-point range and 69.2% from the free-throw line.
#5: Glen Rice Jr.
Glen Rice Jr. scored 301 points in just 16 NBA Summer League games, averaging 18.8 ppg – the most of any player in the top-five of the scoring list. He is also the only player listed to win Summer League MVP. Rice Jr. appeared in 16 games across two NBA seasons. He averaged 2.7 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.6 apg, 0.4 spg and 0.1 bpg while shooting 26.9% from the field, 25.0% from three-point range and 69.2% from the free-throw line.
